The catalog runs from basic tees at around $15 to winter coats at $260, with roughly 45% of products offered in multiple sizes and colours. **Apparel Monster is a demonstration storefront.** Orders can be placed end to end and the APIs behave exactly as a production shop would, but nothing is fulfilled and no money changes hands. The store exists so that agentic-commerce integrations can be built and tested against a real Spree Commerce backend rather than a mock. ### Why it exists Most commerce APIs are designed for a developer who reads documentation, signs up for a key and writes an integration over several days. An AI shopping agent has none of those affordances: it arrives mid-conversation, cannot fill in a “contact sales” form, and needs to discover what a site can do from the site itself. Apparel Monster is an experiment in what a shop looks like when that is the assumption — where reading the catalog, building a basket and completing a purchase all work without a single credential. ### How it is built The storefront is [Spree Commerce](https://spreecommerce.org) 5.3, an open-source Rails commerce platform, running on Puma behind nginx. On top of Spree’s own JSON:API Storefront API sit a first-party agent commerce API, a Model Context Protocol server, and endpoints for the Agentic Commerce Protocol, the Universal Commerce Protocol and Google’s A2A with the AP2 payments extension. Agents and human shoppers see the same catalog, the same stock rules and the same prices, because every surface reads the same Spree domain objects. Discovery documents are published under `/.well-known/`, and every page on the site has a markdown twin — append `.md` to any URL, or send an `Accept: text/markdown` header. ### For developers and agents Start at the [developer portal](/developers), or read [llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a single-file index of everything the store publishes.
